The fine print

How many reactions and bars do I get?

Free: 3 reactions per bar, 20 bars — plenty for a blog or a handful of sites — picked from the built-in marks, full-color emoji, or the 200k+ icon library. Plus: 12 reactions per bar, 100 bars, and your own uploaded artwork (SVG, PNG, GIF or WebP). Pro raises the ceiling to 250 bars.

What happens if I go over my cap?

Your page never breaks. Over the daily cap, reactions still animate live for everyone watching — the counters just pause until midnight UTC. If your post hits the front page, the party keeps going. The free plan also has a 200,000/month ceiling: that's eight full-cap viral days, so a big moment stays free, and a site doing that volume every day belongs on a paid plan. Monthly counters resume on the 1st.

Why can you offer unlimited viewers?

Because watching is the cheap half of the product. Tapback runs on Cloudflare's edge, where broadcasting a reaction to ten viewers and to ten thousand cost us the same. We meter the half that does cost money: written reactions.

When can I actually pay you?

Soon — we're choosing a payment provider. Everything above already works: sign up free today, and when billing opens your plan upgrades in place. Early supporters won't be forgotten.

Do reactions expire? What about my data?

Counts are durable, and one click exports the lot — JSON or CSV, config and full daily history. Readers are anonymous by design: no names, no emails, no fingerprints; abuse control uses short-lived pseudonymous identifiers. Leave any time and take your totals with you.

What if I leave, or want a static archive?

Your reactions keep rendering on your pages. Export a static archive: a tiny self-contained bundle plus a snapshot file you drop into your site's static folder (Hugo, Jekyll, Eleventy, Astro). Your existing bars keep rendering their final counts, read-only, with zero calls back to us. It outlives your subscription — and even outlives Tapback. See the docs.
